Ocean Rain (Collector's Edition) update

As suspected here back in July, disc 1 will be the Ocean Rain album & disc 2 is the 1983 Albert Hall concert (remastered). Due to technical issues, Heroin & Do It Clean from the Albert Hall concert will not be on the CD. This is due to be released on September 29th 2008.

Bunnymen are looking for a label...again

From Bunnymen.com:

We are no longer with Korova/Warners. We re-signed to Korova in January last year. 3 months into recording the album, our MD (Nick Stewart) was made redundant. That left us without an ally (and our biggest fan) at Warners. We asked Warners to free us from our contract - and they agreed We own the rights to our album - and are currently in discussions with other labels about the release - or we may release the album ourselves.

Ocean Rain (Collector's Edition)

I've seen this listed a few places with a release date of September 8th and as a 2CD set. No track listing yet. I wonder if that second disk is the 1983 Albert Hall gig? It would be the perfect time for it with the upcoming Royal Albert Hall and Radio City gig's. Do we dare dream of a DVD of the '83 show? Hopefully it will be worth purchasing for the second disk no matter what. I just hope it isn't a hodgepodge of acoustic versions of The Killing Moon and other already released tracks repackaged. Fingers crossed.

The new EatB album will be called "The Fountain"

Ian McCulloch has revealed that the new album from Echo & the Bunnymen will be called "The Fountain" and will be released later this year. It will be produced by Scottish songwriter/producer John McLaughlin. The first single "Think I Need It Too" will be released in August according to new information. However the new album is not due out till January 2009, so that may not be true.
